OEPA July July 18 Evaluation survey letter
Most of the information in this letter has been duplicated from previous letters that we receive after the yearly inspection and appears to be part of a standard form letter.
We provided the OEPA with sketches and bill of materials of our system in 2004 that was used for our bottle water license with the Depatment of Agriculture and additional information the OEPA requested on filter housings and UV light intensity which we thought they were using to evaluate our system and assumed that nothing else was needed since we have not received have any additional questions, in writingm phone calls, e-mails, or during our two visits to Columbus when we wamted to discuss the technical questions. Per the January 4, 2005 phone conversation with the OEPA they do not have the technical capability to evaulate this type of system used for bottled water.
In 2004, during the original onsite inspection, we identified to the OEPA that we use a small amount of ozone to keep the inside of our buildings disinfected that is typically used for all Ohio Department of Agriculture Food Safety Division Bottle Water facilities, so it is surprising this is being discussed now, two annual inspections later. We personnally have not felt any ill effects from the low ozone concentration levels and are not aware of any safety concerns at these low levels and short times of exposure.
