Ice Flows
Ice flows are a common occurence along creeks and streams during warm ups after a very cold period. When ice flows occur, the water dams up at a restriction in the stream and then bursts sending a wall of water and ice down the hollow. It sounds like a freight train.
This one occurred at Seven Creeks. Notice the wall of ice along the creek about four feet high. This is the ice remaining upstream of the bridge in the background after the ice flow occurred.
